Old Abrahamu’s Last Visit

What God builds remains. As it says in scripture, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Ps 127). Sometimes what we build falls apart and we must trust that the pieces sown with God will grow fully in his timing. 

In this story, Grandpa Paul recalls his final visits with Abrahamu. Then, Eastern Zaire again erupts in tribal conflict, forcing Grandpa Paul to evacuate from Rethy a second and final time.
