God is personally invested in our everyday affairs and also gives us an eternal inheritance that is imperishable. His Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us, is its guarantee and he is not worth trading for anything in this world. A world that, while beautiful, is passing away. 

God will never leave you nor forsake you. He goes with you through all seasons even when you move and friends change. 

When the gifts God gives us become familiar it becomes easy to take them for granted. Family and loved ones are a prime example.

God can be trusted to supply all that we need, and that includes in our relationships. This has been the case from the very beginning when God brought Eve to Adam. 

God equips those he has called and while a missionary returning to his legal country may seem like going home, to them, in many ways, it is just another calling. Their experience of being a sojourner points us to our true and heavenly home.

Goodbyes are an important part of life. Even Jesus, who is still with us by His Spirit, knew what it was like to say goodbye. In John 16 he says, “I tell you the truth; it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.”

Jesus teaches us to store up treasure in heaven where it can’t be eaten away by entropy. Where we store our treasure is important because our heart is with our treasure and our heart directs our life. Perhaps a little like a treasure hunt.
