We like being owed. It gives us a sense of power as if our brother’s sin is worse than our own. In this story, Grandpa Paul recalls settling a few people’s debts and the harangue he received for doing so.
God rewards those who are faithful, and as those made in his image we are enabled to do the same.
In this story, Grandpa Paul recalls entrusting the radio broadcasting to Marko, a faithful dorm employee who demonstrated faithfulness in lots including cooking and watch repairs.
Jesus says, “Come to terms quickly with your accuser when you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. Truly, I say to you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.” (Matt 5:25-26) Applying these words in a largely corrupt country takes wisdom.
It is a lifegiving thing to live in an interdependent community. God has designed us to get support and help from those around us.
